Head is made of Ultra High Molecular Weight Polymer (UHMW), a tough plastic that is chip resistant and will take long and hard usage. 

It is fitted with a straight-grained hickory handle and is cross-pinned with a nylon pin. 

For the dairy and food plants, the 5-R type mallet is also made with a Delrin handle and vinyl grip.  This is our type 5-RFG.
